Our partnership with Het Anker goes back to 2010. The brewery is now thinking of building an aerobic pre-treatment system to increase the capacity and make the process more sustainable.
Brewery Het Anker is a well-known brewery in Mechelen. They have been brewing beer on the same site as today since the 15th century. Het Anker grows throughout its history and in 1990 it takes an important step. The brewery is completely renovated and adds a hotel. Today Het Anker is an established name in the Flemish beer landscape.
Our collaboration with Het Anker is a typical example of a long-term partnership. In 2010, we built a limited pre-treatment plant on site in order to discharge the water into the sewage system in accordance with the standards for pH and suspended solids. When the bottling was moved to Mechelen Noord a few years later, the treatment system there was expanded with an aerobic membrane filtration so that it could be discharged into surface water.
In 2017, the treatment plant was further expanded with a buffer tank and a second membrane filtration. Due to the steady growth, the brewery is now thinking of building an aerobic pre-treatment system to increase the capacity and make the process more sustainable.
