Dutch company Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) processes approximately 30% of the sewage sludge generated by the treatment of domestic wastewater in the Netherlands.
The water released in the process needs to be treated, with special attention being paid to the nitrogen load. In the next few years, we will study various techniques to further modernize this treatment and make it more sustainable. As part of this plan, we carried out a test in 2023 to expand the capacity of the treatment by adding membrane filtration.
These tests were so successful that the technology is being retained as an essential component of treatment plant. The plant’s capacity will be doubled by 2024.
