Kellogg's Mechelen

The best crisps in the whole world are produced in Mechelen! Pantarein Water completed the construction of a brand-new plant for the treatment and reuse of the wastewater produced by Kellogg’s in Mechelen.

The plant includes a pre-treatment system that separates oil and grease for further processing into biogas (by a third party), an aerobic treatment system with membrane filtration to achieve surface water quality, and finally a CCRO reverse osmosis system to convert up to 80% of the wastewater to drinking water quality.

Pantarein designs and builds the installation, provides financing, and is responsible for the full exploitation for a period of at least ten years.

A great example of the importance of good neighbours!
